Who We Are

The owners of Ocatillo Pictures have extensive experience working on feature films and high-end television commercials. Our key technicians also have decades of experience in motion picture and television production.

For the last 16 years, Ocatillo Pictures has brought professional standards and unique vision to our business communication projects. We are able to draw upon the talent and ability of well seasoned personnel to ensure that we always deliver the highest quality projects to our clients.

About the Principals

Terry began his career as a freelance director in Los Angeles. He created visual effects for commercials for Proctor & Gamble, Nissan and Paramount Pictures while working for many of Hollywood's leading effects production companies

Terry directed major portions of CBS on-air promotion campaigns for two seasons. He has also directed four motion graphic campaigns for HBO and it's subsidiary, Cinemax. Departing Hollywood to join the optical department at Industrial Light & Magic, Terry worked on major motion pictures including “Back to the Future II”, "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and “The Abyss.”

In 1991 Terry and Kathleen formed their own commercial production company, Ocatillo Pictures. Terry has produced projects at Ocatillo Pictures for the last sixteen years.

Kathleen Swain is a Director with a background in production art for feature film, commercials and animation.

She began her career working on animated features as a background artist at the Walt Disney Studio in 1979. She did work on the films, “The Fox and the Hound”, “Mickey's Christmas Carole” and “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”

In 1988 she joined Industrial Light and Magic, (Lucasfilm), doing concept design art for the Disney EPCOT Center simulator ride, “Body Wars”. She did concept and production work on the feature films; “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”, “Ghostbusters II”, “Joe vs. the Volcano.” Additionally, she did concept work for the Lucasfilm commercial division.

Other credits include work on Shelley Duvall's “Fairie Tale Theater”, Steven Spielberg's “Amazing Stories”, as well as many national commercials and independent films.

She began writing for our corporate projects in the early 1990s. Since 1999 she has been the Writer/Director on all Ocatillo Pictures' projects.
